The Indus Craft Co. | Crafting Nature into Life.
Version 1.0 | Effective Date: 22 June 2026
Applies to all sample and bulk wholesale orders placed with The Indus Craft Co.
All TICC products are made to order by skilled artisans. Once production begins, materials are procured and artisan time is committed exclusively to your order. Cancellations have real consequences for the artisans and suppliers in our chain. This Policy sets out TICC's position clearly and fairly.
Sample orders placed on the TICC website cannot be cancelled once payment has been received and order confirmation issued. Because every sample is handcrafted to order, production begins immediately upon order confirmation. TICC cannot cancel, reroute, or repurpose a made-to-order sample.
If you have placed a sample order in error, please contact hello@theinduscraftco.com as soon as possible. TICC will assess the stage of production and advise whether any action is possible. No refund is guaranteed.
2.1 No Cancellation After Production Commencement
Bulk orders confirmed by Proforma Invoice and initial deposit cannot be cancelled once production has commenced. Production commences on the date TICC instructs the relevant artisan vendor(s) to begin work, typically within 1–3 business days of deposit receipt.
2.2 Cancellation Before Production Commencement
In the exceptional circumstance where a Buyer requests cancellation before production has commenced (typically within 48 hours of deposit payment), TICC will assess the request on a case-by-case basis. If materials have already been procured or reserved, any cancellation fee will reflect the direct costs incurred. A minimum administrative fee of 10% of the order value applies to all approved pre-production cancellations.
TICC's standard bulk order payment structure is: 30–50% initial deposit on Proforma Invoice confirmation; balance payment after SGS Pre-Shipment Inspection and before dispatch. The following schedule applies to cancellations after production commencement.
| Stage at Cancellation | Deposit Status | Additional Liability |
|---|---|---|
| Before production commencement (within 48h of deposit) |
Minimum 10% of order value forfeited. Balance refundable subject to material costs incurred. | Materials procurement costs, if any, billed separately. |
| After production commencement — before 50% completion |
Initial deposit (30–50%) fully forfeited. No refund of deposit. | No additional liability beyond deposit. |
| After 50% production completion | Initial deposit fully forfeited. Buyer liable for 75% of total order value. | TICC will invoice the additional amount above deposit. Goods are forfeited. |
| After production completion / SGS inspection | 100% of order value is payable. Goods available for collection or held for 30 days. | Storage after 30 days: USD 50/week. Uncollected goods may be disposed of. |
Completed Goods
Where a Buyer cancels an order for completed goods, TICC will hold the goods for 30 calendar days pending payment or collection. After 30 days, TICC reserves the right to dispose of, donate, or sell the goods and apply proceeds against the outstanding balance.
Custom orders, private label orders, or any order produced to the Buyer's specific design, branding, or specification cannot be cancelled under any circumstances once production has commenced. These items are produced exclusively for the Buyer and have no alternative commercial use for TICC. 100% of the order value is payable regardless of cancellation.
If TICC is unable to fulfil an order due to a Force Majeure Event (as defined in TICC's Wholesale Terms of Sale) — including natural disasters, government restrictions, pandemics, or severe supply disruptions — TICC will notify the Buyer promptly and discuss options including: revised delivery timeline, product substitution, or order suspension. In genuine Force Majeure circumstances, TICC will work fairly with Buyers on deposit management. TICC's liability is limited as set out in the Wholesale Terms of Sale.
If a Buyer requests cancellation due to their own business circumstances (market downturn, insolvency, change in business direction, or other buyer-side reasons), the full deposit forfeiture schedule in Section 3 applies. TICC has no obligation to absorb the cost of the Buyer's business disruption.
TICC will, however, work constructively with Buyers experiencing genuine financial difficulty — contact hello@theinduscraftco.com at the earliest opportunity.
Cancellation Request Process
All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to hello@theinduscraftco.com with the subject line:
"Cancellation Request — [Proforma Invoice Number]"
TICC will acknowledge the request within 2 India business days and advise on the applicable terms. Verbal cancellation requests are not accepted.
This Policy is governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to TICC's Wholesale Terms of Sale, including binding arbitration with the seat at Kolkata, West Bengal.
