| Named Exporter | The Indus Craft Co. is the named exporter on all commercial invoices, shipping documents, and export records, regardless of the Indian state from which goods are dispatched. |
3.1 Zero-Rated Exports
All goods exported by TICC are zero-rated for Indian GST under Section 16 of the Integrated Goods and Services Tax Act 2017. TICC operates under Letter of Undertaking (LUT No. ZD190326041762B), which allows export without upfront payment of IGST.
3.2 No Indian GST on TICC Invoices
TICC's commercial invoices to international buyers do not include any Indian GST or IGST charge. The LUT number is stated on all export invoices.
3.3 Destination VAT/GST
Destination country VAT, GST, import duties, and customs tariffs are the sole responsibility of the importing Buyer and are not included in TICC's invoice. See TICC's Shipping, Duties & Delivery Policy for destination-country guidance.
TICC prepares and provides complete, accurate export documentation for every shipment. Standard documents include:
▸ Commercial Invoice — in USD (or agreed currency), stating exporter, consignee, products, HS codes, quantities, unit prices, country of origin, Incoterms, and LUT declaration.
▸ Packing List — itemising each carton with contents, gross/net weights, and dimensions.
▸ Certificate of Origin — confirming goods are of Indian origin, required by most destination countries for customs duty assessment.
▸ SGS Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate — for all bulk orders; issued by SGS prior to dispatch.
▸ Air Waybill (DHL) or Bill of Lading — as applicable to the shipping mode.
▸ Additional documents on request — phytosanitary certificates, fumigation certificates, product certifications — subject to advance notice and applicable fees.
All TICC export documents are issued accurately and in good faith. TICC never knowingly mis-declares product values, quantities, or descriptions on export documentation. Under-invoicing for customs purposes is not a service TICC offers.
TICC's products are traditional handcrafted goods — home decor, textiles, basketry, ceramics, woodcraft, and natural fibre articles. None of TICC's standard product range falls within the categories of dual-use goods controlled under India's Special Chemicals, Organisms, Materials, Equipment and Technologies (SCOMET) list maintained by the DGFT, or within the control lists of other major export control regimes (Wassenaar Arrangement, Australia Group, Nuclear Suppliers Group).
TICC does not knowingly export goods that could be used for military, nuclear, chemical, biological, or other controlled purposes. If a buyer places an order for products that TICC has reason to believe may be subject to export control, TICC reserves the right to request clarification and to decline the order if satisfactory end-use assurance cannot be obtained.
TICC does not knowingly export goods to countries, entities, or individuals that are subject to sanctions imposed by the United Nations, the Government of India, the United States (OFAC), the European Union, the United Kingdom (OFSI), or Australia. Before accepting any order from a new buyer in a jurisdiction not previously served, TICC conducts basic sanctions screening.
Buyers are responsible for ensuring that the end-destination of TICC goods complies with all applicable sanctions regimes in their own country. TICC may decline any order where sanctions compliance cannot be confirmed.
All goods exported by TICC are of Indian origin. The country of origin stated on all commercial invoices, certificates of origin, and customs declarations is India. TICC does not re-export goods of non-Indian origin. All products are sourced from artisan vendors located in India and all artisan production takes place in India.
TICC assigns Harmonised System (HS) codes to all export goods based on the product type and materials. Common HS code chapters applicable to TICC's product range include:
| HS Chapter | Product Category | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Chapter 44 | Wood and articles of wood | Wooden home decor, carved wooden items, wooden bowls, wood storage |
| Chapter 46 | Manufactures of straw, esparto or other plaiting materials | Basketry, rattan, cane, bamboo woven goods, wicker products |
| Chapter 63 | Other made-up textile articles | Home textiles, cushion covers, table linens, bags |
| Chapter 57 | Carpets and other textile floor coverings | Handwoven rugs and dhurries |
| Chapter 69 | Ceramic products | Terracotta, blue pottery, ceramic home decor |
| Chapter 74 | Copper and articles thereof | Dokra and metal craft items |
| Chapter 97 | Works of art, collectors' pieces | Artisan sculptures and heritage craft items |
HS codes are stated on all commercial invoices. Buyers are responsible for verifying applicable import duty rates under the HS code in their own country and for any re-classification required by destination customs.
