The Indus Craft Co. | Crafting Nature into Life.
Version 2.0 | Effective Date: 23 June 2026 | Supersedes: v1.0
For all international wholesale buyers considering a bulk order with The Indus Craft Co.
Why Samples Matter at TICC
Every product sold by The Indus Craft Co. is handcrafted to order by skilled artisans across India. Because each piece is made by hand from natural materials, no two items are exactly alike. Our sample programme exists so that buyers can see, feel, and evaluate the real quality and character of our products before committing to a bulk order.
Your sample investment is not wasted — it may be offset against your first qualifying bulk order under our Sample Credit Adjustment Policy (Section 6).
A sample order is a small quantity purchase placed directly on the TICC website. Samples allow buyers to:
▸ Physically evaluate product quality, materials, finish, and workmanship before committing to bulk.
▸ Assess dimensions, weight, and packaging presentation.
▸ Review colour accuracy, texture, and natural variation in person.
▸ Share samples with their own buying team, design team, or retail partners.
▸ Test market response before placing a bulk purchase commitment.
All TICC samples are real production units — not special sample-grade goods. What you receive in your sample order is exactly what you will receive in your bulk order, within the natural handcrafted variations described in this Policy.
2.1 Via the TICC Website
All sample orders are placed at www.theinduscraftco.com. Add desired products to cart, select quantities, and proceed to checkout. Shipping is calculated and paid at checkout.
2.2 Payment
Sample orders are paid in full at the time of ordering, including international shipping via DHL Express. All prices are quoted and charged in USD.
2.3 Quantities
TICC recommends ordering 1–3 units per product for evaluation. For larger sample needs (in-store display, retail trials), contact us at hello@theinduscraftco.com before ordering.
2.4 Custom Sample Requests
Custom colourways, packaging, or labelling changes must be requested by email before ordering and may require additional lead time and cost. See the White Label & Custom Order Policy for details.
Every TICC product is made to order. Sample orders follow the same production process as bulk orders:
| Stage | Timeline |
|---|---|
| Order Confirmation | Immediate — upon successful payment |
| Production (Artisan Making Time) | 15 calendar days from order confirmation |
| DHL Express Dispatch | At completion of production |
| DHL Transit — USA / Canada | 5–8 business days |
| DHL Transit — United Kingdom | 4–6 business days |
| DHL Transit — European Union | 5–7 business days |
| DHL Transit — Australia / NZ | 6–9 business days |
| DHL Transit — Middle East | 4–6 business days |
| Total Estimated Delivery | 15 days production + DHL transit time |
Important
The 15-day production time is the minimum for all TICC orders and cannot be reduced. Plan your sample order well in advance of any trade show, buyer meeting, or seasonal buying window.
4.1 Carrier
All sample orders are shipped via DHL Express — door-to-door international air freight.
4.2 Delivery Terms
Sample orders are shipped on DAP (Delivered At Place) terms. TICC pays for international carriage. The Buyer is responsible for import duties, VAT/GST, and customs clearance.
4.3 Import Duties & Taxes
International sample orders may be subject to import duties and customs fees at the destination. These are the Buyer's sole responsibility and are not included in the Sample Credit Adjustment.
4.4 Tracking
A DHL AWB tracking number is emailed upon dispatch. Orders can also be tracked via your TICC website account.
5.1 Samples Are Indicative — Not Contractual Specifications
Samples represent the quality, design, and character of TICC products. They are indicative of what bulk production units will look like — not contractual specifications. Variation between sample and bulk units is expected and inherent.
5.2 Natural Variation Is a Feature
The following variations are normal and are not defects:
| What Will Vary | Why |
|---|---|
| Colour and shade | Natural dyes and surface treatments vary between batches. Sample colour is representative — not a fixed specification. |
| Dimensions | Handmade products may vary ±5–10% in size and weight. Inherent to artisan production. |
| Surface texture and grain | Wood grain, weave irregularities, and finish differences are characteristics of natural materials. |
| Minor marks and asymmetry | Small marks and slight asymmetry are authentic evidence of handcrafted origin. |
These variations are not defects. They are what make handcrafted goods authentic. If your market requires absolute uniformity between units, mass-produced goods may be more appropriate for your requirement.
The Indus Craft Co. encourages serious sample-to-bulk buyers. Where eligible, paid sample product value may be adjusted (credited) against the Buyer's first qualifying bulk order. This credit rewards committed buyers who progress from sample evaluation to confirmed bulk purchase.
6.1 Credit Eligibility Rules
| Item | Policy Rule |
|---|---|
| Minimum paid sample product value | USD 300 or above, excluding DHL/freight, taxes, duties, certification, testing, and special handling charges |
| Minimum qualifying bulk merchandise value | USD 5,000 or above, excluding freight, duties, taxes, inspection, certification, and other charges |
| Maximum credit | Lower of (a) eligible paid sample product value, or (b) 10% of confirmed bulk merchandise value — whichever is less |
| Credit timing | Adjusted against the final balance payable before shipment — not against the advance/deposit payment |
| Credit validity | Normally valid for 180 days from sample invoice date, unless extended in writing by TICC |
| Refund status | Invoice credit only — not refundable in cash under any circumstance |
| Order coverage | Normally applicable to the first qualifying bulk order only; additional credits require written approval |
| Eligible sample value | Product cost paid only — DHL, import duties, taxes, destination fees, and special handling are excluded |
6.2 How the Credit Cap Works — Examples
The maximum credit is always the lower of the two figures:
| Ex. | Sample Product Paid | Confirmed Bulk Value | 10% of Bulk | Maximum Credit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A | USD 400 | USD 5,000 | USD 500 | USD 400 — sample value is lower; full amount credited |
| B | USD 900 | USD 5,000 | USD 500 | USD 500 — 10% cap applies; USD 400 of sample not credited |
| C | USD 250 | USD 5,000 | USD 500 | Not eligible — sample below USD 300 minimum |
| D | USD 600 | USD 4,500 | USD 450 | Not eligible — bulk below USD 5,000 minimum |
6.3 How to Claim the Credit
To claim your sample credit when placing a bulk order:
▸ Include your TICC sample order reference number in your bulk enquiry or Buyer Qualification Form.
▸ Attach or reference your original sample invoice to confirm eligible paid sample product value.
▸ TICC will verify your sample order and calculate the applicable credit amount.
▸ The approved credit appears as a deduction on your bulk Proforma Invoice, applied against the final balance before shipment.
▸ No credit is applied against advance or deposit payments.
6.4 Conditions That Disqualify a Credit Claim
The sample credit will not be applied if:
▸ Paid sample product value is below USD 300 (excluding shipping and taxes).
▸ Confirmed bulk merchandise value is below USD 5,000 (excluding freight and duties).
▸ Sample invoice is more than 180 days old at time of bulk order confirmation.
▸ Sample was placed by a different entity or buyer account than the bulk order.
▸ Credit has already been applied to a previous bulk order.
▸ The buyer requests a cash refund — credits are invoice adjustments only.
▸ TICC determines in its reasonable judgement that the claim does not meet eligibility criteria.
7.1 No Cancellation After Payment
All TICC sample orders are made to order and are final once placed and paid. Cancellations are not accepted after payment, as artisan production begins on the same business day.
7.2 Claims for Damaged or Wrong Items
If your sample arrives damaged in transit or is incorrect, notify TICC at hello@theinduscraftco.com within 48 hours of confirmed delivery with photographic evidence. All claims are reviewed in line with our Returns, Damage & Claims Policy.
When ready to place a bulk order:
▸ Contact hello@theinduscraftco.com with your product selection, quantities, destination, and any customisation or certification requirements.
▸ Complete the TICC Buyer Qualification Form.
▸ Receive a formal Quotation or Proforma Invoice covering product price, payment terms, inspection, lead time, and applicable sample credit.
▸ Production begins only after the required advance payment is received.
For a full explanation of the bulk order process — payment options, third-party inspection, certification, and shipment release — refer to our Bulk Order Process & Payment Policy at www.theinduscraftco.com.
